A sinking feeling
My mother is the reason I don’t love you anymore
She wormed her way between us
Passing judgment before answers
Took the smile off our faces
Her words red hot and angry
I couldn’t fix the things she’d broken
A deer in headlights losing focus
Hit me harder than a semi
Going 90 down the highway
She’s the reason I can’t love you anymore
Made me out to be a villain
When I stood up for myself
She went out of her way to start rumors
Spreading chaos with intention
Enjoyed the chase
Enjoyed the lies
Enjoyed the games
Because to her I’m a good for nothing
Now I’m lonely and beside myself
With no recollection of a happy childhood
But I loved you more than I could describe
She made her way in and you trusted her lies
So I don’t love you anymore
She wormed her way in and left us destroyed
