The things I do EVERYDAY to feel my best

It's crazy think how everyone of us on this spinning rock in space get ready for our days so differently. Some women wake up and have a mini spa day in order to feel their best. Some women are more laid back and maybe only need to brush their teeth and drag a comb through their hair. Whatever your routine is, it's how you get up and go.
Now I preface this article to say I am incredibly blessed to have the money and resources available to have the morning routine that i do. I must also add that some days extra steps are added depending on the weather and other life factors. Either way these work for me.

I start my day with half a bottle of water, a small breakfast, a cup of coffee and a handful of supplements
In order for me to feel my best I have about 4-5 vitamins I take every day.
        1. Ashwagandha; typically used to treat stress this wonderful supplement is needed for a high-strung gal like myself. It works with your body's natural receptors to stress, allowing you to stay calm and focused.
        2. St. John's Wort; commonly used to uplift your mood. I personally use it to self-treat my bipolar disorder and depression. It does not mix well with certain medications so you must ask your doctor before mixing it with regular medications.
        3. Vitamin D3 and B12, I use these for a boost of energy, especially on days where coffee might make me too jittery, or I had a long night before.
        4.  Biotin; If you struggle with thin hair or nails this might be a good vitamin to add to your routine. Ask your doctor before use because it can mess with certain medications, and I know for sure you need to have a huge water intake in order for these to actually work.
        5. Basic Probiotic; This is great for gut health and what a lot of people don't know is that a healthy gut can fix several health problems such as indigestion and have been linked to improving several mental health disorders.

I have a weird routine for cleaning my teeth.
Every morning I brush my teeth but not the usual brush, floss, rinse. No, no for some reason i needed to complicate it.
1. Floss
2. Mouthwash
3. Brush teeth and scrub tongue
4. Floss again
5. Mouthwash again
I know this seems like a weird way to do it but i am obsessed with clean teeth. I think it's because someone's smile is the first thing I notice.

Facewash routines can be simple or extravagant.
I love using the internet to see so many morning routines and one i see consistently are face washing routines. I would call mine a nice in-between of fancy and simple.
        1. I use a gentle cleanser by CeraVe. I prefer this one as well as the Burt's Bee's sensitive cleanser.

        2. Face toner is a must for tightening the skin, minimizing your pores and soothes any sensitivity if you used a heavy clay mask or harsh soap. My favorite is Rose Water Witch Hazel Toner by Thayers.

        3. If you have texture or dark spots Vitamin C may be
right now, I am using one i picked up from Marshals a few years ago that I've really enjoyed by HoneyLab.
        4. I end with a basic moisturizer from Cerave that has an SPF in it.

My haircare makes me feel pretty on no makeup days.
There are so many styles to choose from with shoulder length hair but my hair products themselves usually stay the same every time.
        1. Big sexy hair root powder play. I've used this product since my middle school days when I had a mohawk for the first time. Now I'm well into my twenties and its still a product i reach for on days i just need extra volume or a little bit of texture to get mt hot tools to work better.
        2. Arrowroot powder mixed with cocoa powder as dry shampoo to stretch my wash days out.
        3. Not your Mothers medium hold hairspray

These are my go-to products for a basic day. My makeup routine is a little crazier and I'll save that for another day.

Much Love,
Sophie
