Our trip to Elkhart Indiana ( I Heart Mac&Cheese review)

 It's no secret that my husband and I love adventures. What you probably didn't know that we are lovers of noodles and cheese so planning a 2-hour road trip to stop at Elkhart's very own "I Heart Mac & Cheese" bar wasn't something we hesitated on.  While heading down we stopped at Starbucks for quick caffeine and a protein snack box and listened to true crime podcasts and Andy King's frustration against the show Bar Rescue on YouTube. We joked about life and debated how good the food would taste. An hour and forty-five minutes flew by, and we were pulling into the parking lot. 

"I Heart Mac&Cheese" is located on 2101 Bypass Rd, Elkhart, IN, 46514, Indiana.

If you've ever been to subway and saw the line of trays of veggies, meats and sauces all laid side by side in an in table cooler that's how 'I Heart Mac&Cheese' has their macaroni bar set up. There were many pre-decided combinations to choose from or a menu list to choose your own style. Grilled cheese and vegan options were also available.  

The restaurant was clean and tidy when we arrived and immediately, we were introduced to an employee eager to explain how everything worked and take our order. I ordered a grilled cheese with tomato and bacon, a favorite among locals, while my husband created his own macaroni bowl with pepperjack cheese, chicken chunks, bacon and sweet habanero sauce. We watched as the employee slid our order through the conveyor belt oven and went to pay. 

 We thought the food was pretty good for the price but were surprised by the lack of sauce options and toppings. I really encourage you to take the trip to Elkhart to try for yourself.
