Weekly Home Reset
Every Sunday we do a weekly reset in our home. It could be anything from deep cleaning the bathroom or baking goods to enjoy.
This week was pretty simple as I was able to find some of our favorite snacks on sale at Krogers so our baked goods list isn't very long this week. Here are some of the other things I was able to accomplish.
1. Baked a loaf of white sandwich bread. Sometimes I buy sandwich bread but I'm actually trying really hard to be successful in baking my own. The only problem I have is that hand kneading the dough is a challenge for me but I am determined not to give up.
2. Baked mini m&m brown sugar cookies. Buying store bought cookies just never taste as delicious as homemade. I really enjoy this brown sugar cookie base by itself or with chocolate chips. I will be posting a blog full of my favorite homemade recipes this week.
3. Deep cleaned all the bathrooms. I actually deep clean my bathrooms a few times a week, we just have the kind of bathroom space that the second you walk in, its magically a mess. Toilet bowl cleaner on my rust covered tub, gets all of the orange stain out for at least a week.
4. Mopped the hardwood floors. I really enjoy just basic Pine sol. I usually wash my floors 2-3 times.
5. Gathered all of the dirty laundry and organized the clean. We don't have our own washing machine, so I take baskets to my grandparents every week.
6. Smoke Cleansed the entire home. This helps release any stagnant energy, I prefer rosemary and lavender from my own garden.
7. This week I made a batch of vegetable broth from leftover veggies in our fridge. I use this in place of water for many recipes using rice or pasta to give a little extra nutrient.
8. Scheduled several posts for the Facebook groups I manage as well as schedule posts for this blog. Now, I don't do this every week but sometimes it feels nice to get ahead.
9. Created my grocery list from the Kroger app and meal planned. We have a strict budget, so we use coupons or even smaller stores like Aldi to get the most for our money. I do however like how the Kroger app allows me to see the total for my transaction and Aldis does not.
10. Planned activities for my daughters. This one may seem kind of silly but every week i check the weather, the library schedule and the zoo schedules and plan accordingly so my girls have something to look forward to. I've found that giving them activities keeps them off of screentime but also encourages creative play even after the activities are over.
I hope you found this home reset inspiring. Maybe starting a few things on my list will help you create a home reset plan that works well for you and your family.
With much love,
Sophie
