A day in the life of a SAHM part 1
Today I bring you along, dear reader on sneak peek into the wonderful journey of stay at home motherhood. Now, not everyday is filled with giggles and laughter but most days are good ones.
I start my morning at 6:30 everyday, wake up my toddler and take my sweet husband to work. It’s a very short trip and we listen to a local radio show together.
We get home around 7:15 and my daughter Muffin usually is asking for breakfast and her favorite YouTube show A for Adley. She says Adley “pumps her up to have a good day”.
While she eats I make a pot of coffee.
If I’m having a day where the coffee maker is slow I have time to wash my face before it’s ready.
I like to finish my coffee and eat before opening up whatever book I’m currently working on for one quick chapter. After my morning read I open my laptop to check 2 of my social media pages. I manage a moms group on Facebook as well as a poetry page.
I am in the beginning stages of these projects but it’s still good to schedule posts throughout the day so I don’t have to worry about much.
Between 8 and 10 we are often catching up on chores, getting dressed and #selfcaring as we say in my house, and packing up anything we may need to bring with us.
Around 10a we are off to caretake for my grandfather.
It’s nice to be able to spend time with him everyday and we are very blessed to still have him around.
We arrive around 10:30a, our purses filled with personal hobbies or toys to keep us busy if Papaw doesn’t have a hundred tasks he’s needing help with.
Sometimes I get some chores done around him and Mammaw’s house to make things easier or listening to our favorite music while Muffins dances around the room, or some days we just watch whatever cheesy reality television is on cable to laugh at.
4:30p rolls around and we are saying goodbye and off to pick up sweet husband. He’s usually walking out of work around 5:30-6p.
After that we head home, discussing dinner ideas along the way.
We eat a late dinner in my house. Usually around 8 one of us starts cooking. I know this isn’t ideal for most families but after a long day all of us just want to veg out. Sometimes I get home and have enough energy left to knock out a few chores I didn’t get done before I left. Either way, dinner is late and that works for us.
Around 9 Muffin is getting ready for bed with the assistance from me or sweet husband. She likes to brush her teeth, her hair and get into cozy pajamas depending on the weather.
Sweet husband and I have a regular bedtime of 10:30 and usually are curled up together on the couch, getting all of our end of the day thoughts out before a new day comes.
I wash my face, brush my teeth, tie my hair up and just like that the day is done.
